Anyone who might have been thinking the burgeoning Chicagoland craft beer scene had reached its peak was greeted with a swift kick of eye-opening entrepreneurialism at the recent Brew HaHa. Held in the 1st Ward space of Wicker Park’s Chop Shop and organized by chef and artist Won Kim, this fest blended the talents of established breweries, homebrewers and those on the cusp of opening their own spaces.

Based on the sheer creativity of the up-and-coming brewers in attendance alone, my optimism for the future of Chicagoland beer was sky-high. After tasting their beers, my high expectations quickly transformed to certainty. Keep your eye out for the new names you see below.
